We all dream about having that luscious and juicy pout. Well, your lips might not be as agreeable to that dream, since their natural shape is different for different people. In the quest for plumper lips, people often tend to try different things and are always on a hunt for alternatives that are natural. Luckily, a hack that is making it big on the internet at the moment can help – using a gua sha to plump the lips. If the master tool is capable enough to sculpt and improve the blood circulation of your face, it can surely do wonders for your delicate lips. Here is your step-by-step guide.
Step 1: Pick The Right Gua Sha
This one is a point to take note of. For this purpose, not all gua shuas are effective, but only one with a comb-like pattern on one edge will help. The gaps between the teeth of the comb pattern help boost blood circulation in a better fashion than the flat or smooth-edged ones. This is because you’d be required to apply minimum pressure on your lips with this device.
Step 2: Prep Your Lips
Just like you can’t glide a gua sha on dry skin, you can’t do so on dry lips. So, start by spritzing some hydrating facial mist over your face and go ahead and apply a few drops of a lightweight, non-comedogenic and nourishing oil on your lips. Our favourite is ghee, yes it works. Rub it into the lips well using your index finger.
Step 3: Have Your Gua Sha Do Its Magic
Pick up your gua sha, hold one side of your lips taut and glide the smooth edge of the gua sha on that very side in an upward motion. Repeat for the other side of your lips. Once your lips have contracted with the gua sha, it’s time to switch to the comb-like edge and wiggle it across the lips in continuous motions. You can also wiggle your lip line afterwards.
PS: Make sure you do this only once a day, preferably during the night before hitting the sack. Practising this any more than once a day can backfire since the lips are getting exposed to excessive pressure.
